We are presently One Church with Four Expressions reaching people who are far from God: COMMUNITY Online, COMMUNITY Freedom, COMMUNITY Micro Churches, and seven physical COMMUNITY locations. COMMUNITY'S Carillon Location was the second physical location for COMMUNITY and was planted more than 25 years ago with a rich tradition of helping people find their way back to God. Today our Carillon location is one of our seven physical locations with about 200 active adult attenders meeting in the Club House of the Carillon community . Midweek our Carillon team boasts of having more adults participating in small groups than a Sunday Celebration Service! Carillon is an active adult resort community that is conveniently located one mile south of I-55 on Weber Road in Plainfield. Just 35 minutes from downtown Chicago. With over 5,000 residents and endless activities, this is an incredible place to live and be on mission to help people find their way back to God. This is an exciting time to join an established and larger team committed to the success of our location in Carillon and to see the Jesus Mission move forward. MINISTRY ROLE DESCRIPTION - Campus/Teaching Pastor Purpose : To advance the mission of helping people find their way back to God by providing point-leadership for a location of Community Christian Church. Organizational Relationships : The Community Pastor reports to a Network Leader, partners with the other Community Pastors in the Network, and sits on the church-wide Community Pastor Team. The Community Pastor actively collaborates with the Central Catalyst, Creative Catalyst, and Ministry Champions to ensure organizational alignment.What follows is the big rocks of the role. While this doesn’t cover everything that the role entails…... Primary Role Functions & Responsibilities : Develop More and Maturing 3C Christ-Followers. Innovate and implement strategies for reaching more people who are far from God. Innovate and implement strategies for helping people mature by taking next steps in the 3Cs. Recruit, Develop, and Reproduce Leaders and Teams. Implement the Staff-Coach-Leader-Apprentice model to support the development of 3C Christ-followers.. Lead and meet regularly with staff and leaders in teams and one-on-one for ministry planning and leadership development. Lead a monthly Leadership Community to provide vision, skill, and huddle time. Provide Engaging Celebration Services. Serve as the primary communicator of Big Idea content. Utilize the creative content supplied by the Creative Catalyst. Collaborate with the Creative Arts Director to plan the 60-minute service. Build alignment around COMMUNITY’s mission, vision, values, location constants, and “What We Believe.” Ensure the Financial Health of the Location. Serve as the chief fundraiser Take steps publicly and privately to create a culture of increasing generosity. Practice good stewardship by planning and managing ministry budgets. Provide pastoral care. Put systems in place to follow up with new attenders. Put systems in place for significant events (weddings, funerals, crisis situations, etc.). Build Relationships with Community Organizations. Identify organizations and/or causes within the local community that the church can work with to advance the Jesus Mission. Plan opportunities for attenders to get involved with these Community organizations. Set and Complete Annual Key Objectives which Align with Community’s overall vision. Provide strategic and measurable steps. Qualifications : A passion for helping people find their way back to God. A minimum of 10 years of ministry experience. A growing relationship with Christ and alignment with COMMUNITY’s Leadership Expectations and “ What We Believe ” statement. Strong interpersonal skills. Experience and effectiveness in working with highly collaborative teams. Very good public speaking skills. Ability to be flexible and to self-manage in a highly unstructured environment.
